First Week of Taiwan

Taiwan was definitely interesting, and there are a lot of stuff to explore. But one thing I can't believe is that it's not as cheap as US. What is up with that? Here I am looking for cheap shit...and well whatever. I recently went to hua lian and I must say, huang shan and si chuan were better. But it was still good as I get to understand more about my other half, my Taiwanese half. But I am quite sad that I can't bond with some of the people in my program because I have been somewhat jaded from all the alcohol, clubbing, and those related activities. After all, I started doing all that since I was 16 and the excitement isn't there anymore. I no longer feel the adrenaline pumping through me. Oh well, everything happens for a reason. I feel like I should have went on this program the end of my freshman year instead of wasting it away doing nothing, and backpacking through Europe this summer. But overall, my experience in Taiwan is still on a positive note. I am getting to know more about the local residents instead of hanging out with the UC people 24/7 like my past experience. After all, what am I for? My sole purpose is to get know more about my ancestry and further my career, not for the purpose of fun and taiwanese girls. Those are simply icing on the cake :)
